Andrea Grossmann: Art Full of Optimism and Life Energy

The works of Austrian painter Andrea Grossmann are characterized by lightness, expressiveness, and emotional power. Under the title The Magic of Colors, they will be on view from July 10 to August 8 in the lobby of the Festival Hall Bled.

Andrea Grossmann is an Austrian painter and visual artist whose creative work is marked by the influence of the New Objectivity movement and spontaneous realism. Her works captivate viewers with vibrant colors, energetic brushstrokes, and the optimism they convey.

She was born in 1960 in Villach and grew up on an idyllic farm. Although painting fascinated her from an early age, her career path first led her to work as a flight attendant for Austrian Airlines, then into the international business world, and from 1984 onward into tourism. Today, she is a successful cookbook author, an accomplished chef, and co-owner of the Balance****Superior and Elisabeth hotels in Pörtschach am Wörthersee.

“Every beginning is difficult,” says the artist, who believes that it was her life experiences that shaped her into the person she is today. This is also reflected in her works, which combine lightness, expressiveness, and emotional power.

She describes her distinctive style as “New Objectivity”: expressive, sensitive, and spontaneous. Her paintings have been presented at exhibitions in Klagenfurt, Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, and Hamburg. Her works can also be seen in a permanent exhibition at the Balance****Superior hotel and in a unique open-air gallery by the golf course in Moosburg.

Through her art, Andrea Grossmann shows that creativity and joie de vivre are inseparably connected.
