Construction of the hall
In 1961, architect Ivo Špinčič, commissioned by the Municipality of Bled, designed the Festival Hall Bled to host the World Chess Tournament.

1962-1963
The first Slovenian Song Festival and Jazz Festival
Between May 10 and 12, 1962, the 1st Slovenian Song Festival took place at the Festival Hall Bled. This festival undoubtedly left a significant mark on Slovenian popular music – the golden years of the song genre are golden precisely because of the many evergreen hits that saw the light of day at this very festival.

1989
Renovation before the World Rowing Championship
Before the World Rowing Championship in Bled (which took place in 1966), the hall underwent a thorough renovation – a northern section was added, expanding the stage, and smaller halls were built in place of the gallery.

1996
The beginning of the international Festival Bled
Since 1996, the international music Festival Bled has been held in the hall, featuring concerts of jazz, chanson, and world music alongside classical music every summer.

2017
Modern renovation and focus on sustainability
In 2008 and 2011, additional renovations were carried out, including the refurbishment of the main hall and restrooms. The renovations were done in collaboration with the project’s original architect, Prof. Aleš Vodopivec. In 2017, a major renovation was completed, which included interior upgrades, installation of a new elevator, renovation of conference halls, and the introduction of sustainable measures.
