SUSTAINABILITY IN THE BLED CONGRESS CENTRE

How can you, as visitors, renters, and organizers, contribute to sustainability?

Bled Congress Centre is committed to sustainable development and responsible environmental practices. Moreover, we believe that real impact comes when we work together. Please consider sustainability when planning, organizing or attending events at the Centre and follow our guidelines that help reduce environmental impacts and preserve both natural and cultural environments. With your support, Bled Congress Centre will remain a place that brings people together, a place where the environment is respected and valued. We are delighted that you share the responsibility and vision for a greener future with us. Every sustainable action counts.

Recommendations and user awareness

At the Bled Congress Centre, we strive to contribute to sustainable development together with our users. To achieve this goal, we have prepared clear guidelines on sustainable event practices, which include responsible food offerings, waste reduction, energy efficiency, accessibility, sustainable mobility, and respect for the natural and cultural environment.

Sustainability and procurement policy

The Bled Congress Centre has developed a comprehensive sustainability and procurement policy that commits us to consistently adhering to sustainable principles in our daily operations. We invite you to familiarize yourself with our guidelines and actively contribute to reducing environmental impacts, helping us build a responsible and sustainable future together.

HOW TO REACH US?

Sustainable mobility

Committed to the environment and sustainable development, we encourage the use of eco-friendly transportation. Bled Congress Centre is easily accessible by various forms of public transport. The main bus station  is just a few minutes’ walk away. The nearest train station is Bled Jezero, from where buses run regularly directly to the centre of Bled. We also promote the use of intercity buses, e-vehicles and electric bikes, as these choices help collectively reduce the carbon footprint and preserve the extraordinary natural heritage of Bled.

AN EQUAL EXPERIENCE FOR ALL

Accessibility for all – Adaptations for people with special needs

At the Bled Congress Centre, we ensure that our facilities are accessible to all visitors. Our infrastructure is adapted for people with special needs, as we believe that every individual has the right to an equal and comfortable experience.

PRESERVING OUR TREASURE

Drinking water – Our shared resource

Bled and its surroundings are known for clean tap water, readily available straight from the tap. We encourage our visitors to use reusable bottles, helping to reduce waste. In doing so, we not only protect the environment but also support responsible behavior and the sustainable use of local natural resources.

PRESERVING NATURAL HERITAGE

Biodiversity and the Natural Beauty of Bled

Bled is renowned not only for its cultural and congress events but also for its exceptional natural heritage. It is surrounded by remarkable natural landmarks such as Lake Bled with its island, the picturesque Vintgar and Pokljuka Gorges, and the plateaus of Pokljuka, Jelovica, and Mežakla – all part of the wider Triglav National Park area. These unique areas are home to numerous native plant and animal species, making their protection essential for preserving ecological balance. We invite our visitors to join us in respecting this precious nature and helping to safeguard it for future generations.

PRESERVING CULTURAL IDENTITY

Local Culture and Creativity in Bled

Bled is not only a natural treasure but also a vibrant cultural hub where tradition, creativity, and contemporary approaches intertwine. The Bled Institute for Culture is responsible for preserving and developing cultural heritage and manages key cultural venues such as Bled Castle and the Bled Congress Centre. The institute actively promotes local creativity and connects cultural events with local identity. In this spirit, it publishes the traditional Bled Calendar each year, bringing together local artists and promoting cultural heritage enriched with modern design.
